Random Things I Learned During the Chicago Sense8 Screening Meet-and-Greet
1. Mumbi (Zakia) arrived in Chicago that morning, and you would never know it from her energy. (She’s also a hugger and a kisser and super sweet.)
2. This was Erendira’s (Dani) first trip without her toddler son, and she missed him already.
3. Purab (Rajan) is a regular runner. He doesn’t race, but he can run about 13k (8 miles) easily. (I think that’s what he said. Mostly we talked about the pain 😂)
4. Michael (Bug) insists he’s 6'2" but when challenged admits he’s been told he’s taller. (He definitely seems taller, says the woman whose husband is 6'1").
5. I’ve already mentioned that Max is filming a new movie in Cuba and expects to be there until July. (Don’t ask me what it is about because he went on a semi-existential description.)
6. Maximilien Ewalt (Grace) is heavily promoting the concept of a mural at every location they filmed Sense8. If you’re interested in finding out more about it, I can post a link later.
7. Tino Rodriguez (Fairy) is also an artist. He designed the San Francisco mural currently underway as part of Maximilien’s project. He’s also the artist who created the painting in Lito’s bedroom.
9. Freema (Amanita) couldn’t have been more gracious chatting with fans gushing and fan-girling over her, not just as Neets but as Martha (*cough*).
10. Toby took gracious to a whole other level. The message he left for @ww-n-double-d was completely impromptu, and he had to repeat the first part bc someone can’t work her phone. (🙄)(Ok, this also happened with Max and the reverse happened with Mumbi…)
Brian and Lana were surrounded by people for most of this event, so I have nothing personal to relate from them. But I did find myself standing next to Brian at one point, and he asked me what time the screening was supposed to start, so that was a little odd. And I caught it on video by mistake. Of course.
